Meet Our Rector

Reverend Charlie is the longest serving rector in the history of Wye Parish. “I am deeply grateful for the prayers and faith of our congregations, whose transforming influence upon my life is creating the ministry we share today.”

Charlie grew up on the West Coast, Pasadena California.  He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, Fuller Theological Seminary and Trinity School for Ministry, Ambridge, Pennsylvania.  Reverend Osberger is the Dean of the Middle Convocation in the Diocese of Easton, appointed chair of the Department of Mission, a member of the Board of Camp Wright and a Deputy to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church.    Charlie served on the Special Commission on the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, legislative committee on World Mission and recently appointed by the President of the House of Deputies to a House Study Group on the Governance and Polity of the Episcopal Church.  Charlie’s two adult children are Rachael and Nathan.
Charlie’s perspective on Wye Parish:  “Our willingness to build a church of substance, wholeness, and mission points us towards the remarkable message of Christianity.   The Holy Spirit is real.  The church was created to be a fellowship of the Holy Spirit.  At our best, we are called to be a community of believers intentionally seeking to know and respond to God’s will for our lives.   Knowing God’s will begins with our turning to Him through Jesus Christ.  He is the focus of discipleship. Growing, changing, maturing, and serving demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit.   So it’s good to ask, “Please be patient. God is not finished with me (or us) yet”.  I can imagine no greater privilege than to be a part of a vision for transformed lives and hearts.    I warmly invite you to share in this vision, as well.”
